Job description

The bicycle industry is evolving. The latest technologies, internationalization, and the bicycle as a sustainable, healthy alternative offer great opportunities. At the same time there is global pressure on the supply chain and sustainable innovations are an important key to solutions that our customers demand. With your global team you support the Pon.Bike brands by shaping the preconditions for these solutions. And this together with all our suppliers of OTS parts and eDrive systems.

What are you to do?


You put your global category team in the right gear and work with them on topics such as sustainability, CSR, and CO2 emissions, along with identifying possible opportunities for re-shoring or joint ventures. You are committed to good prioritization and the right cadence for the following tasks:


  • Lead your team in the development and implement of procurement strategies aligned with Pon.Bike’s business strategies, primarily with international production partners.

  • Guide the team in identify and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, while securing industry leading terms and conditions.

  • Lead and mentor a global procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Establish clear performance metrics and objectives for your procurement team.

  • You are in close contact with your team and, where necessary, you support them in high profile projects and help them in complex negotiations.

  • Assessing new opportunities and test developments in the market. What are opportunities for joint ventures, agreements on volume commitment or reshoring? 

  • Align with your team on identifying potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to address issues such as supplier disruptions or price volatility.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with our production partners and our brands. You work together with various colleagues in the Netherlands, Germany, the US and Asia, a.o. 

  • You ensure a healthy balance between quality, reliability and costs with a growing emphasis on sustainability.

  • You take strategic procurement to an even higher level, in terms of innovation, quality and delivery reliability from suppliers.

Job requirements

For this ambitious and international position, you bring the following with you:  


  • A relevant university-level bachelor's or master's degree and extra education in procurement.

  • From 10 years of procurement experience, with management skills in an international production environment.

  • You know what it takes for a global remote team to be successful and understand what it means to have the attention focused on you.

  • A good command of the English language, German and Dutch are a good addition.

  • Entrepreneurial and adept at turning vision into actionable plans and tangible outcomes.

  • Ability to identify and seize opportunities to drive success.

  • Strong analytical skills, process-driven, and ability to navigate complex and dynamic environments effectively, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.

  • You thrive in environments with diverse perspectives and challenging projects. Ability to maintain a broad perspective, foster connections, and effectively collaborate.
