You are the driving force behind expanding our market share in Germany.

Job description

At Royal Dutch Gazelle, you step into a leadership role within one of the absolute frontrunners of the global bicycle industry. For over 130 years, we have been immensely proud of our signature quality and the premium craftsmanship that defines a true Gazelle. Our business is evolving rapidly, and international expansion is at the core of our strategy. Germany represents our largest and most critical growth market within Europe.

As Marketing Manager, you are the driving force behind expanding our market share in Germany. Working closely with our global headquarters in the Netherlands, you will bridge the gap between our global brand, marketing and product portfolio strategy and deliver high-impact local execution. You report directly to our Global CMO and will work seamlessly with our German Sales Director to transform premium brand positioning into result driven local campaigns and activations, serving our local business goals.

Your impact

In this high-impact role, you transform Gazelle’s global brand vision into concrete, results-driven marketing plans and activities in Germany. You hold end-to-end accountability for the German marketing strategy, and you have a proven all-round background in brand, pr, trade marketing, retail marketing, and digital. You will plan, initiate and implement local marketing activations, work with agencies, manage the local budget, and ensure that Gazelle establishes a dominant and premium brand presence with our consumers, in retail and among our dealer network in Germany.

Why you want to work as Marketing Manager at Gazelle

  • Maximum impact: You hold direct accountability for the growth, visibility, and commercial success of Gazelle within Europe's largest bicycle market.

  • The best of both worlds: You combine the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a local commercial team with the scaling power of our hyper-modern, global headquarters.

  • Make it fun: Join a highly driven, international team working on a product that inspires pride and contributes daily to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable world.

Key responsibilities

As part of the Global Marketing Management Team, you’ll frequently visit our HQ in Dieren - The Netherlands and spend quite some time (25%) travelling in Germany.

  • Above all you lead, design, and optimize best-in-class B2C marketing and dealer initiatives to guarantee a dominant physical retail presence across Germany.

  • It is your top priority to lead the overall development and execution of the annual German marketing plan and budget in close, seamless collaboration with the Global Marketing team and local business stakeholders.

  • Transcreate and localize global brand campaigns, ensuring they resonate deeply with local consumer insights while maintaining global brand alignment.

  • Build and optimize a highly successful local product portfolio, including product positioning frameworks and pricing roadmaps, in close cooperation with HQ Product management.

  • Support, scale, and optimize consumer test ride programs and comprehensive retail traffic-generation plans for our German Experience Centers (including Berlin, Hamburg, Münster, Mönchengladbach).

  • Develop, manage, and execute strategic joint co-marketing campaigns with German key accounts to maximize mutual growth and shelf-share, working hand-in-hand with the local sales team.

  • Oversee and steer German digital marketing and performance campaigns, continuously optimizing the funnel to maximize high-quality lead generation and robust consumer demand.

  • Track, evaluate, and report on marketing KPIs and activation metrics, aligning smoothly with centralized HQ reporting goals and processes.

Your background

You are a commercially savvy and analytically sharp marketing leader who prioritizes measurable market results and performance tracking over pure creative execution. You navigate virtual and international matrix organizations with ease, and you possess the stakeholder management skills required to align centralized strategy with local sales realities.

To excel in this role, you bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (an MBA is highly preferred).

  • 8–10 years of proven, dedicated marketing leadership experience managing comprehensive marketing teams and agencies. Preferably within the German bicycle or e-bike industry (client or agency side), or at least a big bike fan!

  • A deep knowledge of and proven, successful track record in all-round marketing skills within the German market place: B2C, B2B and retail marketing activation.

  • Strong, data-driven skills in digital marketing, funnel performance tracking, and modern lead-generation tactics.

  • Robust knowledge of the German commuter and everyday cycling consumer base, along with an expert grasp of premium brand management.

  • Native or business-fluent German and fluent English language skills for a seamless international collaboration. Dutch fluency is a pre.

  • Previous experience operating within an EU-based multinational, matrixed corporate structure, or working closely with foreign headquarters is highly preferred. Virtual teamwork experience is a prerequisite.

What we offer you

At Gazelle, you can count on excellent, modern employment conditions:

  • A competitive gross monthly salary range € 6.800,- to € 7.400,- (*13 months) complemented by an attractive bonus structure.

  • A fulltime employment contract.

  • A company car.

  • Enough vacation days for a good work-life cadence and to ride on your favourite Gazelle bike…

  • Flexible hybrid working possibilities, including an ergonomic home office setup allowance and a monthly home office stipend.

  • Extensive personal development, training, and leadership programs to continuously sharpen your professional edge.

  • Highly attractive employee discounts on products from Gazelle, Pon.Bike, and the wider Pon portfolio.

  • Access to athletic Pon-wide events including bootcamps, cycling rounds, running events, padel tournaments.
